State government can incentivize local governments to adopt policy changes that would lower the cost of housing so working people could afford the other necessities of life on their wages. Raising the minimum wage periodically is also important.

State government is focusing on policies to encourage and support the construction of more affordable rentals and homeownership opportunities. State government has also allocated increasing amounts of financial aid to make housing affordable for the long-term. This support must continue given the enormous size of the housing construction deficit.
