Bornstein Poverty Q5

Published by Paola Avendano on

Nonprofits can focus their efforts on the neediest households in the community before providing programming to those who can afford to pay. Nonprofits can also collaborate with others serving the same populations to eliminate duplication of services and comprehensively meet the needs of those in poverty.
Additional thoughts
Nonprofits provide a very significant portion of the safety net and services to address poverty in our communities. It is important for nonprofits to do more than sustain the status quo. Their services should be designed to provide the support necessary for families to rise out of poverty.
